Upcoming Freethinkers Lecture Series 3-5pm, June 22

Dr. Julie Horwitz is a licensed clinical psychologist and board-certified clinical neuropsychologist who joined the UCCS Aging Center as Director in 2024. Her subject for the afternoon, and probably much of her professional focus, is the various types and factors involved in the realm called "Dementia"? She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from University at Albany. Her predoctoral internship was completed through the Boston Consortium in Clinical Psychology , and she subsequently completed her two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital. As Director, she currently oversees the clinical training of graduate-level geropsychology students and provides direct services to older adults and their families.
Although some people already think Freethinkers are a little different, we treasure our brains and our abilities to use reasonable levels of critical thinking! We want to know when and if these skills are in danger. What can we do to slow the brain aging process and how can we help those we care about when we see them declining?
This presentation is offered by the Freethinkers’ Lecture Series, which are all free and open to everyone. This Sunday June 22 gathering will be from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at the UCCS Downtown center 102 S Tejon Suite 105 .
