This event is being held in conjunction with the “America Beyond 250” afternoon conference on May 30th organized by American Atheists. Tickets from the America Beyond 250 website are required to attend these events. If you are interested in either joining the morning walking tour or attending the afternoon speakers and panel discussions, visit https://americabeyond250.org/ to get tickets. Board members from the Freethought Society will also be hosting a table at this event with more information about our organization's initiatives.

Our walking tour that morning will be a casual stroll in historic Philadelphia, starting at the Arch Street Meeting House and visiting the below locations - with more details of each site narrated by the tour guide. Come and see a few iconic reminders of brilliance, courage, and freedom as we meet new friends and have some good conversation.
Our tour stops (outside only) will be:
1. National Constitution Center (which has the new exhibitions “America’s Founding” and “Governing the Nation”);
2. Independence Visitor Center;
3. President’s House (site of the recent legal battle over the removal of slavery exhibits by the National Park Service);
4. Liberty Bell;
5. Independence Hall (newly renovated in preparation for Summer 2026 events);
6. American Philosophical Society (which has a new exhibition, “These Truths: The Declarations of Independence”);
7. “Common Sense” Historical Marker (where the first edition of Thomas Paine’s historical pamphlet was published);
8. Museum of the American Revolution (which has a new exhibition, “The Declaration’s Journey”);
9. Ben Franklin Court and Museum.
** Total of approximately 1.3 miles on city sidewalks.

Participation in the walking tour is not needed to attend the afternoon event (and vice versa), although we are excited to be participating in both. For questions about the walking tour, contact Freethought Society Vice President David Condo at davidcondo@ftsociety.org. Other event updates can be found at https://americabeyond250.org/.
