Women's Movement and Choreography 4-week Workshop
Tuesdays 11th November - 2nd December 2025
1-4pm
North Fremantle Community Hall, 2 Thompson Road, North Fremantle
Reclaiming Wholeness workshop is fun and connecting to your inner resources. Trust is and inside job!
To have trust in life I have found I needed to reconnect with my body, move my body, be witnessed in movement with other like minded souls. Liberate your performance with these workshops. If you are a women who has had trauma in the past. no re-experiencing the past as the focus of the workshop is on our wholeness. Find self-love and self-esteem, connect with your creativity and learn to trust yourself through moving your body in a safe environment.
Theatre Games will be used for the warm-ups in these workshops. Theatre Games are embodied, playful, fun, relaxing, and nurturing building trust in the body and in the group. Theatre games open communication and stimulate collective creativity.
Theatre games, image-making, storytelling, improvisation, and playmaking open up new resources in our relationships. Storytelling together building community and connection. The movement section of the workshop will involve shapes and gestures from the participants as well as choreographic tools that I have collected in my research so far in my research and attending choreographic training over the past 4 years. Participants will collaborate with the group towards a performance within our group over the 6 weeks.
With Theatre for Living Facilitator Jennipher McDonald
This workshop uses work from my PhD research and exploration in Reclaiming Agency and wholeness through Embodied Performance After Intergenerational Family & Domestic Violence. I am asking the question - How can Theatre for Living and Somatic Practice transform the oppression that comes from lived experience of Family & Domestic Violence into wholeness?
This work will involve seeing with fresh eyes, sensing from the field, operating from the whole: linking head, heart, and mind, and having a vision and intention for the future.
