Reindeer Ride!

Details
Sign in at 6:30 pm and roll at 6:45 pm. This is an FFBC ride, and we are inviting guests to join us. All riders must sign in for insurance reasons. The end time is a rough estimate.
Join this ride to tour Northgate and Ardenwood neighborhoods in Fremont to spread some holiday cheer with Christmas Lights decorations on bikes, holiday music and camaraderie. We'll go with the flow and tour streets where we spot decorations. This will be a very very leisurely ride through the neighborhoods to take in the sights and sounds of the holiday season, take plenty of pictures and be merry! Riders of all abilities are welcome and no one will be left behind! The goal is not to go beyond 1.5 hours for the ride although it is anticipated that the ride may finish well before that. We will be using the Alameda creek trail to cross over from the Northgate neighborhood to Ardenwood in order avoid riding on busy streets.
In the spirit of Christmas cheer, you are welcome to also decorate your bicycle with lights, wear reindeer caps, ugly sweaters or any other accessory that would make it fun.
Keep in mind however that helmets and bike lights (Front and Rear) are a must since this is a night ride. Be sure to dress warmly. It can get very cold once the sun goes down.
There is plenty of parking at the Beard Staging area where the ride will begin and end. The ride is located at the border of Fremont and Union City so it will hopefully give a chance for Union City residents to also join the ride.
Distance: Approx. 10 miles; Climbing: None
Pace: Leisurely – up to 10 mph. No riders left behind.
If you want to go faster, please wait for a future ride. We'll have some easier and harder, faster and slower rides for you to choose from. See our ride calendar, especially starting in January when our annual conditioning ride series start, for more options.
FFBC’s rides are meant to be fun and safe. They also must conform to insurance requirements.
- Minors (under 18 years old) who are not FFBC members are not allowed this time (we may have rides later that do allow them)
- Bikes must be in good working condition: tires inflated, brakes and derailleurs working
- Cycling helmets that are in good condition and certified to meet CPSC standardsmust be worn with snug chin straps at all times while on the bike
