French Beginners Course - in Edinburgh (8 weeks)

Do you want to start 2026 with some French? Join us!!

Level: Designed for new French learners or those constructing basic sentences, even after using tools like Duolingo for several months and learning French in school.

📆 Calendar: IN-PERSON: From the 9th of January, you’ll have an hour class every Friday at 5 pm for 8 weeks until the 13th of March (plus two weeks off on the 13th and 20th of February with material/exercises to keep the routine during the wee pause). If you miss a class, you’ll still get the material and some explanations from me so then no excuse to keep practising your French every week!

🗣You'll be learning from Emma, a native French Speaker, so you’ll experience how French is truly spoken—not from an app or a textbook!

The class is open for only 6 students to keep the class small and cosy, but mostly unsure everyone can practice and ask questions.

We'll meet in the famous French cosy café La Barantine in Bruntsfield after it’s closed, which makes it feel more like hanging out than a formal lesson - indeed don't expect a "rigid" approach such as formal institutions.

Students who come are super friendly and motivated—not just to learn French, but to enjoy some time with interesting and nice people. So my classes are all about learning and having a good time together.
