What we’re about

As a French native, I have unfinished business with the classics I studied at school, so every now and then I revisit some—my own version of "searching for lost time". The idea of this group is to connect with any potential fellow enthusiasts.

In practical terms, we'll meet at the library and take turns reading selected works, and work through study aids. To set the tone, my favorite French quote is: « Ce qui se conçoit bien s'énonce clairement, et les mots pour le dire arrivent aisément. »

This meetup is intended for those with French proficiency and a genuine interest in the subject, for example, if they (have) pursue(d) a French minor/major in college.

The syllabus evolves as we go along and is posted at the bottom. It’s a good idea to read ahead of future events.

The meetup features a live English translation challenge: can those flamboyant linguists one meets around campus really hold their own?
