Our book club meets on Zoom, hence we welcome readers from outside the Washington, DC region. The focus is on the beautiful literature & culture of France. All Francophiles are welcome who wish to delve into French literature. We are a bilingual group. I'll select books that are available in both the original French & in readily available English. All levels of French are welcome--or none--you all just need to love France! Spoken French will also be translated into English--we're really bilingual! As Georges Bernanos loved to say, "La France-c'est une idée nécessaire pour la civilisation!" That's the motto of our club!

She encounters a preposterous rigid stem that she is ill-equiped to finesse and faces many errors. Hilarious, satirical, and sad.
Amélie Nothomb is one of my favourite contemporary French writers (yes, we stole her from Belgium and she happily lives in Paris!). All her novels have a photograph of her on the front cover by the way. An Amélie Nothomb eccentricity.
