French and Art LA is for French language learners, Francophiles and art lovers.
French and Art LA will be offering online workshops, classes, events during which you’ll have a chance to perfect your French through interactive art viewing and art-based discussions, while also meeting and connecting with other art-curious Francophiles,
This is a new Meetup and we’re just getting started. So if you’re looking for a new way to perfect your French and would like to connect with like-minded French and art fans, feel free to sign up! I’ll be offering both free and paid live online workshops, classes, events, and conversation opportunities.
The MeetUp is run by Anne, a French-English bilingual, passionate about foreign language learning, visual artist, lecturer at the Met Museum in NYC for over ten years and the creator of French-with-Art, an art and language program which helps French learners perfect their French through art (www.french-with-art.com)

Free French Language/Art Workshop - Matisse vs. Picasso: Who Wins?
·OnlineOnlineJoin us for our kick off event, a free 1-hour French Language/Art workshop focused on a an interactive presentation and a lively discussion in French of two giants of 20th-century art: Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.

For intermediate and advanced French levels. No art experience is necessary, just bring your thoughts and curiosity!
Often considered rivals during their lifetimes, these two artists pursued distinct artistic directions, yet both had an extraordinary influence on the development of modern art. Through guided viewing of a selection of their masterpieces, we’ll explore their artistic visions, share our personal preferences, while discussing what makes their work so compelling.Space is very limited to ensure interactivity!

Perfect Your French and Learn About Art this December on Tuesday Mornings!
Location not specified yetJoin us for French-with-Art's 4-session course taking place on 4 Tuesdays in December 12/1; 12/8; 12/15 and 12/222 2026, from 9.30 to 10.30 am PACIFIC STANDARD TIME.
Intermediate advanced and advance levels
Join us for this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a fun live interactive online class of French and Art! You'll practice your French while learning about the master works from the world's great collections.
You'll have the opportunity to:- Practice your French, both speaking and listening skills
- Increase your vocabulary
- Learn about great works of art
- Enhance your observational skills
- Meet other Francophiles
- And have fun!
You'll receive vocabulary lists as well as the list of works we'll explore.
We'll be meeting online with Zoom.
Cost: $158 for the 4-session course.The sessions will be run by me, Anne. I'm the founder of French-with-Art and a native English/French bilingual and lecturer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for over 10 years.

Anne's interactive French with Art classes are stimulating and fun. Providing her students with the vocabulary they can use to react to the artworks, Anne listens closely to and celebrates each person's input. Patient and complimentary, she has created a safe haven where we are not afraid to make mistakes, as we improve our language skills. I feel that I have greatly developed my observation skills, as Anne encourages us to look deeply into each painting.
If you wish to practice speaking French while at the same time improving your knowledge of art, French-with-Art is the class for you. Anne is a patient and encouraging facilitator whose small classes ensure that all have an opportunity to participate. She provides relevant vocabulary prior to each class and asks thoughtful questions to encourage interaction.
