This is the second meetup of our 2025 reboot, and happy to let you know that I'm no longer on my own organizing the meetup. Stephen Tung has kindly offered to help out to keep the momentum going and I'm excited to have him on board!
The Beer Bay is now at Pier 4 but the format remains unchanged 🍻; come for another casual gathering! Chat with peers in the software & technology community. Bring your smile and relax with a refreshing drink.
Concept 🍻
It works simple:
- feel free to arrive and leave at any time during the event
- get yourself a drink at the bar or convenience store
- say hi to someone in the group and chat away.
How to find us? 👀
Bart/Stephen usually wears something that is easy to spot in a crowd. Often it's a bright coloured t-shirt. Have a look at past photos of meetups to recognise him. Moreover, we usually stand close to the bar.
Venue 📍
The Beer Bay is an outdoor kiosk/bar, situated at the walkway between the Central Ferry Piers, at the ground level entrance of Central Ferry Pier #4 (to Lamma Island). There's plenty of space to stand, and various places to get drinks. Usually lots of people in conversation, and an overall casual and relaxed atmosphere. In summer it can get hot and sweaty, and winter a bit cold, but drinks are refreshing and nothing beats that skyline!
Toilets 🚻
Top deck of pier 3, public toilet at the end of the piers near pier 2, or you could walk to the IFC shopping mall nearby.
Drinks 🍺🍷🍹🥤
The Beer Bay serves refreshing alcoholic drinks, such as cold drafts, wine and plenty of mixers too. There are also non-alcoholic options from other stands and convenience stores around as well.
