Black History Tour & Lunch

Details
Join us for a wonderful tour of black history sites close to home and then lunch afterwards, as we celebrate Black History Month in February! Let's meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Apex Museum-one of the nation's oldest African-American museums. Cost $7 or $5 for those 55 and older. We'll tour the Apex Museum where we will learn more about African and African-American exhibits such as "Africa the Untold Story" and more. Those who wish to do so may then visit the Auburn Avenue research library next door, or drive a short distance down the street to visit the MLK visitor sites.
We'll regroup to have lunch at 1 p.m. at the nearby Municipal Market, aka "the Sweet Auburn Curb Market" - which has several food options in the market eating area. As a group we'll sit together to eat in the seating area right by the Metro Deli Soul Food eatery. You can order off the menu of traditional favorites in a wide variety of choices of soul food for your selection, or you can choose food from any number of nearby eateries and sit down with the group.
It should be a fun and informative celebration of black history. See you on Saturday February 29th!
