The Ropetackle has started a regular monthly storytelling group (for adults).
Quite a few of us went along to their various events last year, usually on the 2nd Monday of the month. They have a terrific variety of guest storytellers, and is always great fun. It's usually held in the intimate mezzanine space, but occasionally moves to the main space downstairs if it sells out particularly fast. Tickets are just £8 - a great (and very reasonably priced!) way to spend a Monday night!

If you've never seen a professional storyteller weaving their magic, give it a try - you might get hooked, like me - it really is a unique experience!

and NB I'll be collecting £2 Meetup fee from all attendees, unless you've opted to set up a standing order for an annual sub of £10 to the Club account, a/c no 21633813 Sort Code 40-25-03 a/c name "Friendly Brighton" with the reference "'your Meetup name' Sub".

"“I do remember,’ explained Christopher Robin, ‘only Pooh doesn’t very well, so that’s why he likes having it told to him again. Because then it’s a real story and not just a remembering.”
In the land of Egypt, a grieving goddess creates a ritual to reconnect with her lost husband.
In a perfect ageless garden, time is invented to lessen the pain of mourning.
And in the 1970s, a book of poems eases a father's broken heart.
Storyteller Mary Honeybone blends together three stories of sorrow, memory, and new beginnings, weaving threads from ancient mythology and her own family history. From the epic to the everyday, this show takes a life-affirming look at how we are shaped by love and loss.
"A recipe for how words can scaffold the process of grieving." – Jenny Doe, Psychologist
"A balm to soothe your soul." – Minnie Wilkinson, Storyteller & Theatre Maker
Mary Honeybone will be joined by club regulars Joshua Crisp and Amelia Ace Armande sharing short tales of time and togetherness. "
