Storytelling at The Ropetackle - "Sacred Herbs of Britain"
Details
The Ropetackle has started a regular monthly storytelling group (for adults).
Quite a few of us went along to their various events last year, usually on the 2nd Monday of the month. They have a terrific variety of guest storytellers, and is always great fun. It's usually held in the intimate mezzanine space, but occasionally moves to the main space downstairs if it sells out particularly fast. Tickets are just £10 - a great (and very reasonably priced!) way to spend a Monday night!
If you've never seen a professional storyteller weaving their magic, give it a try - you might get hooked, like me - it really is a unique experience!

"Olwen, the daughter of a giant, has hair yellower than the broom and cheeks pinker than the foxglove. Everywhere she walks, she leaves a trail of white clover, and she lives in the mythic Welsh landscape of the Mabinogion — Wales's oldest collection of written stories.
Bilingual storyteller Claire Mace blends herb lore with the folk tales of Wales as she walks us through Olwen's territory — a land where every tree and plant has their own story to tell, and their own place in myth and history.
This traditional storytelling performance has been developed thanks to the Gwobr Esyllt Prize from Chwedl, the network of women storytellers in Wales."
