Storytelling at The Ropetackle: Gutted – Stories From East Anglia
Details
The Ropetackle runs a regular monthly storytelling group (for adults), and this month's continues the seafaring theme from last month's - this time with tales set in East Anglia.
Quite a few of us have been to their various events over the past year or so, usually on the 2nd (or 3rd) Monday of the month. They have a terrific variety of guest storytellers, and it's always great fun. It's usually held in the intimate mezzanine space, but occasionally moves to the main space downstairs if it sells out particularly fast.
Tickets are just £10 +bf - a great (and very reasonably priced!) way to spend a Monday night!
If you've never seen a professional storyteller weaving their magic, give it a try - you might get hooked, like me - it really is a unique experience!
Get your ticket at:-

and NB I'll be collecting £2 Meetup fee (contactless) from all attendees, unless you want to pay an annual sub of £10.
"Come all you fisher-folk and fill your guts with a hearty helping of folklore and folk music from East Anglia, descaled by award-winning storyteller Minnie Wilkinson. Prepare to be hooked by tales of ancient queens and bags of bones, hulls bursting with herring and something strange in the water – but that's another kettle of fish. One might even call it fishy. But don't worry about that for now. You're welcome here, so come in and warm your cockles. Just don't take more than your fair share – or someone will have your guts for garters.

Some say Minnie Wilkinson is an odd fish, but you can't deny she spins a good yarn. This London-based storyteller makes work that is both thought-provoking and whimsical, and regularly tells at theatres, festivals, museums, schools and back gardens. Minnie is a founding member of the Whitechapel Collective, and can usually be found telling a tale at their monthly open mike night at the London Hospital Tavern."
