Friendly Walks

Hi all, cost, & info below..A beautiful, scenic, healthy 5.5 mile circular walk, part walking along the River Thames, pubs date back to the 1500's and have been frequented by the likes of Princess Margaret, Frank Sinatra, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Kirk Douglas and even one of the pubs is owned by an actor known all the World. We will see where the pirate Captain Kidd was hung, see Winston Churchill's funeral barge if in dock, see pubs Dickens wrote about, Where Judge Jefferies was caught.

Old sailing wooden ships once transported goods and received rum, rice and wonderful new spices hundreds of years ago when the great River Thames was alive with large sailing ships and was the most powerful nation in the World! Some of the wonderful old warehouses still exist, The only wallside WW2 damage left in London, the oldest music hall left in the World, amazing docks and stunning canal walk and giant sailing ships left in dock.

where a battle took place that includes a giant mural, deeply atmospheric Jack the ripper site left absolutely intact, stunning horse statues running through water, part of lost roman wall. It is an incredible area and if you have not been to this area you are in for a stunning treat, (we even have the option to drink in an old twisted warehouse with lanterns and the end of the Walk!

It is a 15-year fascinating journey together to explore the whole of beautiful, enchanting Secret London. The only walking group in the World offering this unique experience!

The individual walks have been created from an original route several miles in length (usually on average about 50 miles) where we have checked every nook and cranny, every hidden alleyway, lane, lost cobbled path, cul de sac, avenue, road or street in that area for you!
It is then shortened, to give back to you a magical walk with all the best bits of 'Lovely London', voted the best City in the World for the 10th year running!

What is given back to you is the most scenic, healthy walk (usually 3-6 miles in length) with some of the walks containing hidden cobbled lanes, lost shops, secret gems, areas lost in time, wonderful views, idyllic Instagram photo shots and all sorts! Now and then some brief local info is mentioned or something of historical importance along the way.

You will have plenty of time to chat and meet new friends whilst walking the amazing lost areas of London! So we welcome you to the colourful highlights of this fascinating City of London with simply wonderful things to see!

Hi all, cost and info below. Please join everyone for a wonderful 4.5 mile or 6.5 mile urban, linear walk. Some amazing highlights on the walk include a Hidden Georgian Gem pictured above, a gentrified village with cafes, a deep level shelter used during WW2, an old Edwardian toilet now a an old wine bar with candlesticks within the restaurant, real Roman relic from the 1st Century, an Old Town where Vivienne Westwood lived and died, a wonderful Nature Garden sitting by a stunning 18th Century Church, old alleyways, a wonderful lake in a beautiful park, an amazing magnificent building that was an asylum for girls orphaned during the Crimean War, parts of Old London Bridge that are now part of a house!

Also a working Victorian Prison and execution site with inmates that have included Boris Becker, Bruce Reynolds (the man who organised the Great Train Robbery), Charles Bronson (notorious long-term inmate and artist), Derek Bentley (convicted of the murder of a policeman and hanged at Wandsworth in 1953), Gary Glitter (singer, songwriter, and convicted sex offender), James Earl Ray (assassin of Dr. Lurther Martin King), Julian Assange, Max Clifford (former publicist), Oscar Wilde, Pete Dohery, Ronnie Briggs (participant in the Great Train Robbery, Ronnie Kray (notorious Crime Leader)

Hi all, cost, & info below. We have a beautiful 4 mile or 6 mile walk, which sits majestically next to the River Thames, the 16th Century Royal Palace for Henry VIII, an incredible beautiful woodland walk and elegant cafes (cafe stop), pubs and restaurants, wild deer, some great historical info such as the famous Hampton Court Palace, National Physics Laboratory, WW2 and the Diana Fountain

Within Zone for Oyster and Travelcards, Trains every 30 mins from Waterloo, Vauxhall (Victoria) Clapham Junction (Overground), Wimbledon (District), Surbiton, Buses nearby R68, 411, 111, 216, 461. Only a short train journey from London Trains

Please meet outside the front of Hampton Court Railway Station

The walk starts and ends at Hampton Court Railway Station

We will stop at The Pheasantry Cafe within the Woodland Gardens for about 20 mins. The cafe will be busy so suggest, bring a small pack lunch, we can sit looking at the wonderful view of the Woodland Gardens before heading off the 2nd part of the walk. Drinks and social after and sit outside if it's a sunny day!

Details, There are 2 options..

Join us for a wonderful 4 mile (7.2 km) daytime walk from Hampton Court, through the magnificent Bushy Park, Woodlands Gardens, Heron Ponds, Diana Fountain and then pass by the beautiful Hampton Court Palace back to the station on a circular walk 4 mile group will make their own easy way back to the station

6 mile walk has above but also the extension of Home Park where the Hampton Flower show is held, amazing Long Water, and a lovely walk along the River Thames.

Bushy Park is the second largest of London's Royal Parks 1,100 acres in area, after Richmond Park. The Arethusa 'Diana' Fountain was designed by Sir Christopher Wren as a grand approach to Hampton Court Palace.
The park is listed at Grade I on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Hampton Court Palace
Cardinal Wolsey, a favourite of King Henry VIII in 1529 gave the palace to the King; The King arranged for it to be enlarged so that it might more easily accommodate his sizeable retinue of courtiers. Along with St James' Palace, it is one of only two surviving palaces out of the many the King owned.

The structure and grounds are cared for by an independent charity, Historic Royal Palaces, which receives no funding from the Government or the Crown.

Apart from the Palace and beautiful gardens, celebrated maze, Royal tennis court it also has the largest grapevine in the world.
The palace's Home Park and Long Water is the site of the annual Hampton Court Palace Festival & Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

BRAND NEW WALK Hi all, cost & info below, please join everyone for a wonderful, amazing mostly Riverside 6 mile linear walk through Richmond, Isleworth, Syon Park and House (Stopping for a cafe break during the walk), Brentford, Kew Bridge and ending in Strand On The Green.

A lovely, stunning, beautiful walk while finding out some brief and local history along the way, highlights include where Henry VIII exploded lying in state and where his wife Catherine Howard was imprisoned and where they met, where Lady Jane Grey was imprisoned, Charles I and II drank, Oliver Cromwell kept his troops and a battle took place, where Vincent Van Gogh and J.M.W Turner lived, a shipbuilders yard still in place from hunderds of years ago, where the Beatles filmed, beautiful streches on the River and a Riverside Pub at the End!

The Walk starts outside the front of Richmond Station by the bus stops. (District Line, National Rail and Overground) and ends at Gunnersbury Station (District Line and Overground)

Please note the walk starts at 12pm not the usual time because with the River Thames being tidal, Strand on the Green becomes flooded and we cannot walk along the path, so the earlier time is to accommodate for this reason.
