Bredon Hill and Elmley Castle loop (8-mile hike)

Details

The perfect opportunity to put a big tick next to those two big objectives to (a) get out more, and (b) meet more people. This hike takes in the stunning scenic views from the top of Bredon Hill, spiralling round the hill to get to the top, the view just gets better and better.
Having reach the summit and marvelled at the fantastic distant landscapes for a while, there is a short descent back down to the cars which we left conveniently right next to the pub!
So we'll have a sit with a well-earned drink and have a bit more chatter before setting off home at about 5ish.

** UPDATE **
The first date scheduled for this walk had to be cancelled due to the arrival of Storm Isha, and the second date scheduled also had to be cancelled due the arrival of Storm Kathleen. You couldn't make it up!
So lets get out there and make it third time lucky.
Having completed this route myself (before the storms came along) I can say that the view from the top of the hill when you reach it is absolutely incredible in several directions (see photo) and you'll agree the effort is totally worth it.
I've committed myself to get you up there to see it at some point - no matter what mother nature throws at us!

This superb route will get you outdoors, breathing the fresh air and rubbing shoulders with like-minded Friendly Faces group members - both new and regular.

Despite the fantastic views and peaceful natural beauty throughout the route, please be warned that this event is not a short stroll and is therefore not for the faint-hearted. i.e. You should not sign up if you have any recurring injuries that could flare up, or you do not have a good level of stamina for physical and enduring exercise.
Also - some good quality (and ideally waterproof) walking boots are essential for this walk. If you wear trainers, you can be sure they wont look the same after as they did before!

We will take a few breaks along the way, including a half-way stop to scoff a home-made sandwich, and then when we finish we'll take a well-earned sit down and drink at the Queen Elizabeth pub.

Please note the 25 minimum age-range of this group, and also that due to the many farm animals that we pass - dogs are not permitted to attend this trek, no matter how well behaved.

We'll meet outside the Queen Elizabeth to commence, and roadside parking is available on the surrounding streets.

I really hope you qualify to attend and can make this one. Notwithstanding the warm and sociable Friendly Faces group members (first-timers and regulars) that you will share this experience with - this is a fantastic walking route, and not to be missed.

Hit the Attend button now so you dont forget.
