New Years Day walk 4.5 miles around Shalford and Bramley
Details
You may not feel bloated from Christmas now but you probably will so here is a good chance to get out for some exercise and first day of the new year is an ideal day for some fresh air. Dogs welcome!
Come along this walk around Shalford and Bramley which includes an old mill, a canal path, a chapel ruins, a disused railway line and a closed railway station. Although there is no pub stop we WILL end at a pub (which is sometimes open on New Years Day) and near another (which has always been open on New Years Day) where people can continue to socialise.
This is mainly a flat and gentle walk (though one hill) especially for people who fancy a bit of fresh air and exercise. Please wear sensible footwear as some paths might be wet and muddy.
DOGS WELCOME. There is a toilet stop near the start of the walk. We will finish around 4:15.
Meet outside the Queen Victoria pub next door to Shalford Railway. If coming by car, park in Tillingbourne Road outside Shalford Infant School GU4 8BY which has unrestricted parking. Look out for me in my yellow hi-vis top.
We will leave PROMPTLY at 1:30 (which will give people to have breakfast/lunch/brunch earlier due to celebrations the night before) to make the most of the daylight.
