Dear Adventurers,

This Saturday we will take full advantage of autumn colours and visit a part of picturesque “Painter’s Way” (Malerweg), on the left bank of Elbe river in German Saxon Switzerland. Expect the usual – sandstones, forest paths, table mountains, stone-carved steps, metal ladders, and narrow passages.
Planned distance is the combination of short daylight time and elevation profile in the form of a roller coaster. There will be option to add more distance if time will allow.
This will be a car trip, so space is limited.

• General Info:
Trail: Walking
Grade: Strenuous; possible scrambling
↑ 816 m | 772 m↓
Distance according to mapy.cz: 22,2 km

• Getting there and back:
→ We will go by cars. Leaving at approximately 7:00am from Prague to Pfaffendorf. Estimated start of the hike ~9am.
Drivers will announce the exact starting points.

• What to bring
-Comfortable hiking footwear with good grip. Sturdy/ non slippery shoes are a must, as metal ladders are notorious for being slippery
-Waterproof and layers. It will be quite cold but hopefully dry and sunny
-Tea/coffee/water/snacks & lunch to keep you going
- EURO/CASH. There will be possible gastro stops (it is quite a touristy area), where they love euros, and hate credit cards
-It's a good idea to have a map app installed on your phone.
