Friends Forest Tour #38 - Greene Valley - Normal & Extended Hikes!

For October we are going on the Third Saturday this month due to a conflict. please note the weekend change

This month we are headed back to Greene Valley and this preserve is perfect for our normal 3 mile / one hour hike and new extended hike. For our 3rd time here as a group we will be walking the greene valley hill trail as well as another trail in the preserve.

After 3 miles we will end the normal hike in the main parking lot then continue an extended hike which covers 6 more miles over another 2 - 2.5 hours. This longer hike is completely optional. I originally thought to hike all of Greene Valley but the whole thing comes in over 13 total miles so I pulled the extended hike down to a 9 mile total to kick off longer hike options. 😂

To sum it up. Our hikes start same time at 9am but on 10/17/26 this month. After our normal hike the optional extended hike goes another 6 miles.

Normal Hike 9-10am - 3 Miles
Extended Hike 10-12/12:30 - 6 additional miles.

Should be fun!! Bring water and sunscreen if you are planning to walk the full 9 miles. For our normal 3 mile hike this will include some elevation for on the trail.

Not all of our future hikes will have these optional extended hikes, but we will have several over the next year!
