Spring Crew Member Orientation and Safety Training - Everyone Welcome!

Are you registered for a spring trip, or curious about volunteering on trail? This required orientation is one of the building blocks supporting safe and rewarding experiences on the trail. All are welcome to attend.
We will be meeting in the large community room in REI Bloomington, MN.
Event Schedule:
5:00 pm - Room opens, meet with your crew and trip leaders
6:00 pm - Start of presentations
7:30 pm - Wrap up / Q & A
Presentations by Trip Leaders will include:
- Mission of the Boundary Waters Advisory Committee (BWAC)
- Intro to BWAC's trails: Powwow, Sioux-Hustler, Eagle Mt / Brule Lake
- 2026 Trail Maintenance trips overview
- What to Expect on a BWAC Trip
- A Day-in-the-Life of a Trail Volunteer
- Intro to Tools, Safety on Trail, at Work, and in Camp
- USFS - BWCAW rules and regulations
- BWAC Specific gear, Water treatment, and Food storage
- What's in my Pack?
