Gold Butte Oldtimers- Art & Bill
Details
Join us for an interesting and informative evening as Elspeth Kuta of the Virgin Valley Heritage Museum shares stories of these two characters that lived and mined in Gold Butte when the West was still wild!
This pair of prospectors called Gold Butte home for decades after everyone else had left. Arthur Coleman and William Garrett met in 1916 and lived at Gold Butte, running cattle, searching for gold and distilling moonshine in the home they shared until Coleman died in 1958 at the age of 82. Garrett died three years later in 1961 at the age of 81. Both were buried in Gold Butte and their graves remain there to this day.
Doors open at 6:30 pm, program will begin at 7:00 pm. Free and open to the public. Donations always appreciated.
