California Condors in Zion National Park
Details
The Friends of Gold Butte in collaboration with the Virgin River Coalition are proud to present our first LIVE Speaker Series event in over 4 years! Join us at the Mesquite Community Theater on Wednesday October 22 at 6:00 pm for "California Condors in Zion National Park" presented by Pete Gorzalski.
Come and learn everything you ever wanted to know about these birds, their history and the challenges they face, living in and around Zion National Park, from an expert in the field. Pete Gorzalski has been a Volunteer in Zion NP since 2015 as a Condorator, VIPer and natural interpreter, logging over 6600 volunteer hours! Pete has received a
Group Award, the George & Helen Hartzog Award in 2022 for Outstanding Volunteer Service for monitoring the California Condors. Pete was also given the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024.
Pete will give his presentation and then also be available to answer questions from the audience. This is a chance to gather with friends, make new ones and learn about the wonderful world in which we live, and it's free to the public. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the presentation will begin at 6:00 pm. The snack bar will be open, and we will have information on how you can become involved with both the Virgin River Coalition and the Friends of Gold Butte, both 501 (c)(3) Nonprofit organizations based here in Mesquite!
