The **Friends of Gold Butte** in collaboration with the **Virgin River Coalition** are proud to present our **monthly Speaker Series!** Join us at the **Mesquite Community Theater** on **Wednesday November 19 at 6:00 pm** for ***"Birds of the Mojave"*** *presented by **Dave Anderson** of the **Red Rock Audubon Society**.*

Come and spend the evening with us as Dave Anderson, Vice President of the Red Rock Audubon Society shares his knowledge of birds that reside here with us in the Mojave Desert. A professional photographer, Dave will present images of some of the fascinating resident and visiting bird species found in the Mojave Desert. He will share insights into their behaviors and habitats, along with techniques he uses to photograph them responsibly—capturing stunning images without disturbing the birds in their natural environment.

Dave will give his presentation and then also be available to answer questions from the audience. This is a chance to gather with friends, make new ones and learn about the wonderful world in which we live, and it's **free to the public**. **Doors open at 5:30 pm** and the presentation will begin at **6:00 pm.** The snack bar will be open, and we will have information on how you can become involved with both the Virgin River Coalition and the Friends of Gold Butte, both 501 (c)(3) Nonprofit organizations based here in Mesquite!

**Dave Anderson** is a lifelong naturalist with a BS in wildlife biology from the University of Maine. His career includes environmental research, adventure guiding, and leading expeditions in over 15 countries. A certified Nevada Naturalist and Vice President of the Red Rock Audubon Society, Dave owns *The Wild Sights*, a birding and photography business based in Southern Nevada. His photography and film work have appeared in *National Geographic* and *The New York Times*, earning top honors in the *Focus on Nevada* Photo Contest.
