Know Your Neighbors! Meet the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument
Details
The Friends of Gold Butte in collaboration with the Virgin River Coalition are proud to present our monthly Speaker Series! Join us at the Mesquite Community Theater on Wednesday December 17 at 6:00 pm for ""Know Your Neighbors! Meet the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument" presented by Krystal Glass, Lead Interpreter, GCPNM.
Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument invites us to experience the wonders of untamed landscapes, reflect on the legacy of those who have called this region home, and embrace the freedom to explore a place where nature, history, and solitude converge in one of the wildest places in the lower 48. The program will focus on the natural resources, human history, and modern recreational use of Parashant National Monument, including some of their 'greatest hits' and most popular areas.
Krystal Glass grew up in Hurricane, Utah, and developed a love for National Parks and outdoor recreation at a young age. As a teenager, she had the opportunity to work for Zion National Park, and the rest is history. Krystal has had the opportunity to work in many Southern Utah and Northern Arizona Parks, including Zion, Cedar Breaks, Natural Bridges, Pipe Spring, and now Parashant. She loves the desert landscape and her favorite thing about Parashant is the opportunity to collaborate with other agencies, including the Bureau of Land Management, and other sites like Gold Butte.
Krystal will give her presentation and then also be available to answer questions from the audience. This is a chance to gather with friends, make new ones and learn about the wonderful world in which we live, and it's free to the public. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the presentation will begin at 6:00 pm. The snack bar will be open, and we will have information on how you can become involved with both the Virgin River Coalition and the Friends of Gold Butte, both 501 (c)(3) Nonprofit organizations based here in Mesquite!
