Free evening stroll by Maidenhead's waterway

Details

Join us for a gentle stroll alongside Maidenhead’s restored waterway. Hear the story of how a dried-up stream in the heart of the town has been brought back to life.
During the walk Dominic Hurst, trustee of Friends of Maidenhead Waterways, will point out different features of the restored waterway. He will explain how volunteers worked over many years to turn the idea of regenerating York Stream into reality and the challenges they faced, as well as plans for the future.
The walk begins at the pay and display car park at Blackamoor Lane, Maidenhead SL6 8RH. (£1.40 for 3 hours). Meet by the picnic bench.
The route goes along the footpath by the waterway and into Maidenhead town centre. It includes crossing the A4 and climbing up and down a few steps. The walk returns to Blackamoor Lane car park. The distance there and back is just under 1 mile. Wear study shoes for walking.
The tour is free and lasts about 1 hour 15 minutes.
