Maidenhead Canoe Club free taster session

Details
Maidenhead Canoe Club has just been launched and is open to new members.
You are welcome to join us at our first taster session to try out a two person canoe or double sit-on-top kayak. Most boats are doubles so you will probably share with another person. Please bring a friend if you wish (though indicate this below). Canoes, paddles and buoyancy aids are provided.
You will be in a small group with a qualified coach, paddling on calm sheltered water. Beginners are welcome.
There is no clubhouse and no changing facilities so arrive 1845 ready for the water at 1900. Wear comfortable clothing including sturdy footwear, such as river shoes or trainers. In a sit on top kayak the seat can get damp so wear swimming shorts or something similar and bring a towel.
Maidenhead Canoe Club is run by Friends of Maidenhead Waterways, which led the restoration of York Stream. Club membership will cost £20 per year and will allow you to take part in club paddles on Monday evenings and other events.
You don't have to decide straight away if you want to join the club. Just come along and have fun.
Places are limited and booking is essential. There will be further taster sessions in coming weeks.
Maidenhead Canoe Club is affiliated with Paddle UK and is proud to support #ShePaddles, to encourage women and girls in canoeing and kayaking. All club activities are insured.
This activity is open to adults only.
