York Stream clear up, Maidenhead
Details
Please join us to help maintain the banks of York Stream in central Maidenhead. We will be cutting back overhanging brambles and branches using loppers and a hedge trimmer.
We will be working in teams, some on our maintenance boat Yorkie and others on the bank cutting and bagging up the brambles.
All this work is done by volunteers from Friends of Maidenhead Waterways, as the council and its contractors do not do this.
We will meet 0830 Saturday 11 October by the stump of the recently cut will tree. You will see us if you stand on York Road bridge over the waterway and look downstream. We will stop for a tea/coffee break and finish before midday.
Gloves, tools and eye protection will all be provided along with tea and coffee. Please wear old clothes suitable for working outside and tough footwear such as walking boots or trainers.
We are a friendly team and welcome everyone interested in helping make Maidenhead a better place or anyone who just wants to do some voluntary work, meet others and have a chat.
