Do you want to try canoeing or kayaking?

Maidenhead Canoe Club has just been launched and is open to new adult members. Join us for a taster session to try out a two person canoe or sit-on-top kayak or sit in kayak.

Most canoes are doubles so you will probably share with another person. The kayaks are singles. Bring a friend if you wish (though indicate this below and pay for both in advance). Canoes, paddles and buoyancy aids are provided.

You will be in a small group with a qualified coach, paddling on calm sheltered water. Beginners are welcome.

There is no clubhouse and no changing facilities so arrive 1745 ready for the water. Wear comfortable clothing including sturdy footwear, such as river shoes or trainers. You may want to bring a towel and change of clothing - or keep this in your car.

Taster sessions cost £10. Please pay in advance by bank transfer to Maidenhead Waterways Restoration Group (our legal name), Account 00015476, Sort Code 40-52-40, at CAF Bank, adding your SURNAME/TASTER for reference.

This event starts at Chapel Arches on our pontoon, down the steps next to Bakedd cafe.

Places are limited and booking is essential. If it's booked up, please join the wait list and watch for updates. If anyone drops out, there may be a late space available.

Joining Maidenhead Canoe Club costs £40 per year. New joiners must complete our canoe and river skills Discover course, costing £60.

Club membership will allow you to take part in club paddles on Monday evenings and other events. The club is run by Friends of Maidenhead Waterways, which is a charity.

Maidenhead Canoe Club is affiliated with Paddle UK and is proud to support #ShePaddles, to encourage women in canoeing and kayaking. All club activities are insured.
