Join us for a relaxing weekend at Mirror Lake State Park—one of Wisconsin’s most scenic (and often underrated) gems, just minutes from Wisconsin Dells.
If you’ve been to Devil's Lake State Park, think of this as its quieter, more laid-back cousin—same natural beauty, but with fewer crowds and a much more peaceful vibe.

What Makes It Special

  • Glass-like, calm water: Mirror Lake is a no-wake lake, so the water stays incredibly still—perfect for kayaking and living up to its name. Beautiful sandstone cliffs rise directly from the water, creating a unique, winding lake with scenic views.
  • A little bit of everything with ~28 miles of trails, you’ll explore pine & oak forests, sandstone bluffs, wetlands, and prairies—all in one park.

We’ll keep things easy, flexible, and fun. You’re welcome to join everything, pick one activity, or relax and enjoy the campfire.

Kayaking
Bring your own kayak or rent one at the park:
https://www.mirrorlakeboatrentals.com/ (scroll down for kayak info). Mirror Lake is long and full of bends, coves, and hidden inlets—perfect for exploring at your own pace. We’ll choose based on the group's ability level:

  • Sunset Paddle (Recommended) 1–3 hours, a relaxed paddle along the shoreline, hugging cliffs and exploring quiet inlets as the sun sets.
  • Full Lake Paddle 3–5 hours. Start at the north end and make your way down the entire lake, with breaks along the way.
  • Optional River Adventures (Conditions Permitting)
  • >>Wisconsin River – sandy banks, cliffs, iconic Dells scenery
  • >>Dell Creek – a hidden connector into Mirror Lake
  • >>Baraboo River – gentle current with light riffles

Hiking
A few great trail options for different moods and energy levels:

  • Ishnala Trail ~1.5–2 miles | Easy. Peaceful shoreline walk—perfect for a slow morning.
  • Echo Rock + Lakeview Loop ~2.5–3 miles | Moderate. Classic Mirror Lake views and scenic overlooks.
  • Fern Dell Gorge + Sandstone Bluffs Loop~3–4 miles | Moderate. Shaded, slightly more adventurous, and less crowded.
