Walk with Potomac Valley Samoyed Club in St Patrick’s Parade

Come join the Potomac Valley Samoyed Club and walk with your Samoyeds in the 2024 St Patrick’s Day Parade in Old Town Alexandria, VA, on Saturday, March 2, at 12:30.. We will be walking as a group several blocks down King St from St Asaph St to Cameron St before dispersing. Weather is expected to be perfect for us with temperatures in the mid-50’s and overcast. Participants are asked to dress appropriately. No political or controversial attire or items are allowed. Feel free to decorate your dogs and yourself in St Patrick’s holiday paraphernalia. The more green, orange and white the better. Dogs should be on leashes no longer than 6 ft. Flexi-leads are NOT allowed. Bring water for your dogs and poop bags to clean up any accidents. We are always a hit with the crowd and lots of pictures will end up posted to social media. We need to be in our staging area (not yet assigned) by 11:45 am. Because streets along the parade route will be closed off starting at 9:30 am, give yourself plenty of time to find parking and walk to the staging area. We recommend you park in one of the several nearby parking lots or garages rather than try to find street parking. It is not a holiday so parking regulations are in effect.

If you enjoyed the “Flash Mob” at the Capitol on New Year’s Day, you will enjoy this fun event. Come meet fellow Samoyed owners, give the parade spectators, particularly the kids, some joy, and make great memories with your Samoyeds.
