Free Guided Bird Walk @ Rose Creek
Details
Join us for a collaboration between the San Diego Bird Alliance and the Friends of Rose Creek as we explore the birds of the Rose Creek Salt Marsh and upstream habitat.
With the exceptionally warm winter we have been experiencing, we don't know if the Snow Birds will still be in town. Keep your fingers crossed. These bird summer in Alaska and Canada, but prefer to hang out in San Diego for the winter. American wigeons, Bufflehead, and an assortment of teals have been hanging out.
Stay for as long or as short as you wish. We usually have the best bird sightings around sunset!
Kyle will be our guide this month.
We are grateful for our partnership with the San Diego Bird Alliance. Their grant funders need to know money is being well-spent. You can help with this effort by pre-registering online or registering at the event the day of.
Low tide will be at 5:07 PM and high tide is at 11:40 PM. Sunset is at 5:40 PM. Bring a jacket as it will be cool near sunset or earlier depending on the weather.
This bird stroll is on mostly level ground, often paved and suitable for all ages. Unfortunately, the entire walk is not wheelchair accessible. If you or someone who wants to attend uses a wheelchair, please email Info at Save Rose Creek dot org for how you can connect us with us on the wheelchair friendly stretch of the walk.

Want to know what we may see if we are lucky. We have attached some photos taken by J. Caffrey at our December walk.
ROSE CREEK is a birding hot spot in the north east corner of Mission Bay. Check out the latest sightings on eBird. A treasure in Pacific Beach, the creek and salt marsh is popular with Bikers on the East side, a quiet, shaded walking path on the West side.
If you can can, download Kyle’s bird list ahead of time and see how many birds on the list you spot.
Bring binoculars if you have them, good walking shoes and check the weather before you come. We will have a few extra pairs of binoculars for attendees, but supplies are limited.
Thanks to our partners at the SD Bird Alliance for their support. When you arrive, please register with them as it supports their grant funding, which allows them to support Rose Creek.
*** Rain cancels. Drizzle we may continue***
