Wildflowers of Summer - a Photography Hike
Details
Saturday, August 6, 8am - 1pm
MEET DAVE SELF - ACR ECOLOGIST - AT THE JUNCTION OF PINE FLAT ROAD & RED WINERY ROAD, 3/4 mile north on Pine Flat Rd from Hwy 128 at Jimtown - so we can carpool to the Preserve.
A drive with several hikes and lots of wildflower photography (beginners are welcome). We'll meet over a dozen wildflowers that are vital summer nectar sources for native bees, butterflies hummingbirds and other pollinators. As always I'll point out issues of habitat history and restoration potential for these flowers and their pollinators. Bring your smart-phone (or other camera), extra water, lunch and a hat.
