Join us for an unforgettable tour of the Orlando Wetlands Park, a remarkable nature preserve teeming with incredible bird diversity, fascinating plant life, and resident alligators! This unique park was ingeniously created to naturally filter and clean wastewater from the Orlando area, and it has become a stunning environmental success story. As we explore the trails and boardwalks, you'll discover how innovative engineering transformed sewage treatment into a thriving 1,650-acre wetland ecosystem. Learn the fascinating history of how this project began and why it has exceeded all expectations in both water quality improvement and wildlife habitat creation. Whether you're an avid birder hoping to spot rare species or simply someone who loves being surrounded by nature, this tour offers something special for everyone. Come experience firsthand how human ingenuity and nature can work together to create something truly beautiful and functional! Please be prepared to make a donation of at least $5 to the park. Please wear closed-toes shoes, bring water, hat, suntan lotion, bug spray (just in case). We will meet at the kiosks adjacent to the park lot at 8:30 a.m. Please allow yourself enough time to arrive by 8:30 am! You must sign up for this event, as it's open only to the first 24 people who sign up.
