🍁 Hiking from Vienna - Autumn Grand Finale 🥾
Details
This is the last chance this year to experience the panoramic view of the vast autumn-colored Wienerwald from an altitude of 650 m, after a long hike through the falling leaves!
We'll visit three scenic panoramic landmarks: the ancient ruins of Burg Mödling, the majestic Husaren Temple and the top of the Kaiser-Jubiläums-Warte (see Komoot track).
We meet on Sunday Nov. 1st at 8:20 inside the Meidling station in the open seating area located in front of the big Ströck. With the ÖBB app or a ticket machine please buy a 3€ train ticket from Meidling to Mödling (price with Jahreskarte).
At 8:30 we jump together on the first available Rex1/S2/S3 train, which takes us to Mödling in 15 minutes. (if you prefer to take the train in Hauptbahnhof and meet us in Mödling, please write it in the chat and be in Mödling before 8:55, not later). We will be back to Vienna at 16:00.
The hike is up to 6 hours long and not easy (660 m elevation gain), so it is suitable for fit people only. We don't stop at a restaurant. Please bring 2 liters of water, food, snacks, rain jacket and wear sturdy mountain shoes and a winter jacket, since it will be cold, especially at the top.
IMPORTANT: This is not a guided hike, but simply a chance to experience nature around Vienna together, so everyone is responsible for their own health and safety.
If you need more information, please ask in the comments or in the chat.
