Thirsty Thursday at Rahr Brewing

Details
Welcome to all! Let's meet for a casual and easy gathering at a fun place... One more time before they close the taproom in May in search of a new location. They have been at this location, a former Coca-Cola warehouse, for twenty years.
Thirsty Thursday offers $4 CORE PINTS all day for 6 or so of their year-round beers. Many others and seasonal offerings on tap. Offerings include the new Texas Light and a hard seltzer. Click here for a sample list of their current offerings on-tap.
New members, please know that we are a friendly bunch and you will be comfortable and welcomed here!
We will likely gather at tables inside the Taproom, based on the inclement weather. On the outdoor patio is possible, if pleasant. Look for the Meetup logo/Reserved signs.
They also sell soft drinks, Gatorade, Topo Chico, Red Bull, etc. Complimentary water.
Food truck on-site.
Parking on the neighborhood streets or on one of the area vacant lots. There may be a pay lot nearby, but there are many free parking options.
This is a family-friendly event. Invite a guest!
We are inviting the Around Arlington and Beyond, Cocktail Buddies - DFW and DFW Business, Friends & Fun Meetup groups to join us.
The brewery is open 4 - 10 PM on Thursday.
Current forecast is for Party Cloudy and 72 °F at 6 PM and 71 °F at 8 PM on April 24. Storms forecast to end by 6 PM. Things change!
About Rahr closing and moving:
A renowned North Texas brewery is relocating after two decades.
Rahr & Sons Brewing Co., known as a pioneer in craft beer, is planning to move from its longtime location at 701 Galveston Avenue in Fort Worth, our content partners at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram report. The original taproom will remain open until May 17, according to a post on Rahr & Sons Facebook page.
“Our goals for the future of Rahr Brewing have surpassed the capabilities of our current location, so we are searching for a new home,” Fritz Rahr wrote in a post on Rahr & Sons Brewing Co.’s Facebook page. “We are so grateful for all the memories, the laughter, and all the life events we’ve shared together at the brewery.”
Rahr & Sons says retail sales of their beer in restaurants, bars and stores will continue without interruption as the search for a new location is ongoing.
“Our line of beer is expanding as well as the core styles that you love,” Rahr & Sons’ social media post continued. “We would love to thank everyone that’s been a part of our Rahr Galveston Ave beer family. Exciting things are happening at RAHR, and things are changing - but what isn’t, is our love of bringing you your favorite Rahr beers.”
Co-founder Fritz Rahr told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that they're seeking to move the brewery elsewhere in Fort Worth.
Fritz Rahr comes from a long line of brewers with German roots going back more than 100 years. He and his wife opened Rahr & Sons on the south side of Downtown Fort Worth in 2004, according to Rahr & Sons website. Source WFAA-TV website
From the Rahr Brewing website:
Once inside the brewery you can expect to line up for a pint of beer. After that, feel free to visit the gift shop or find a spot to sit at one of the picnic tables. PLEASE no pets unless they are service pets or here as part of a weekly charity group.
Don’t worry if you can’t find time to eat before visiting the brewery! We’ve teamed up with some of the best family-owned restaurants and food trucks Fort Worth has to offer to bring great food to the brewery!
Don’t be surprised to see local musicians performing live, vendors, or artists set up to showcase their goods. We have a great opportunity to highlight an important part of the North Texas arts community and we want to make the most of it!
