DATE CHANGE!!!!! Dealing with LOSS through Divorce AND Widownhood.
Details
Hi Friends,We have all been through loss in our lifetimes. We have experienced all phases, shapes, flavors and degrees of loss over the course of childhood into adulthood.
BUT, the loss that we experience through the divorce process, being widowed and DATING is a whole OTHER GIGANTIC form of loss!
Anyone who has experienced the divorce process can tell you how horrible it is.
Depending upon what stage the person is in--what they relate about the experience will be different. Being in the throws of divorce is a terrible stage. The stage right after the divorce is final is also another traumatic stage Even being a year down the road can be whole other stage.
EACH includes loss, anger, fear and many, many more emotions. Depending upon the divorce experience-mutual agreement, hateful and angry divorce or simply two people who just don't care about each other any more, will release unique emotions that each person will go through.
The sad thing is that anyone going through the divorce process realizes is that, yes, we do get out alive but what shape are we in, even if we are alive? YOU know what I mean. Usually we are hurt, broken and totally at a loss. It can be devastating!
Widowhood is a bit different in that there is loss also. The process is hellatious as the couple goes through an illness and then death. While they don't have the anger and other emotions that results in the loss of divorce, they still have loss! There is anger, sadness, loss of the person in their lives, fear....those of you that have been widowed KNOW what those emotions are. Those emotions, like divorce emotions, come at different stages.
YES, there is loss in dating! How many of you have dated someone and become vested in the relationship and then the other person ended it! It doesn't matter if has been 6 months or a 3 years, it hurts and there is great LOSS. Ask anyone who has gone through that process. There is grieving even if they were not married or suffered a loss through death.
We are going to go on a journey of talking about loss through divorce, widowhoodand dating and how we as individuals can each help ourselves and each other navigate through one of the most traumatic times of our lives.
Have you ever been dumped?? Suddenly and without a good solid reason?
Have you ever dumped someone? It is said that there is pain for both parties. Pain for the person who is dumped and pain for those that have dumped someone. I have a bit of trouble believing that the person doing the dumping has much pain in the process but I can be wrong. We are going to talk about that.
There are several ways of ending things.
Talking things out and coming to a decision together that the relationship would not go on is one and the most healthy one.
The other is where one person makes the decision and just dumps the other person with little or no regard to their feelings or the pain that would follow.
The third is where the couple breaks up, gets back together, breaks up, gets back together, all with one person making the decision each time. Usually, the person ending it is the one that keeps coming back or leaves the door open enough for to give the other person hope. Then one day they really do end it and don't come back ever. When this is done there is great harmto the other person.
In each of those scenarios, there is great loss. Much like death.
As a group, we will try to find some solid solutions on how to keep our heads and hearts alive and well.
I will be sharing tips on how to start over, how to weather the storm and heartbreak of loss. I will have materials that you will take home to read and to help you through those really hard times.
This workshop will be slam packed full of LOTS of good stuff to help you get off the couch, out of the bottle and move on with your life!
I hope you will join us there!
