Trail Work Day - East Head Reservoir Trail
Details
The East Head Reservoir Trail needs help after the severe storms we have had this winter! I walked the trail yesterday and nearly every section has some obstruction, with many downed branches and small shrubs blockng passage. The good news is that no large trees fell on the trail and with a good maintennce crew, it can be restored, hooefully in one afternoon.
We will try to walk and clean the whole trail if we get enough volunteers.
Meet at the main parking lot at MSSF Headquaters - 194 Cranberry Rd, Carver.
Bring loppers, pocket hand saws or brush cutters, work gloves, and water.
there is still some pockets of snow, but it was well packed and yesterday, and no micro spikes were needed.
We have several pairs of Loopers to offer If you don't have tools to bring.
This will be the first of a series of trail work days during the the spring season to clean up storm debis that has fallen in most areas of the forest. The next trails will be the Bentley Loop and the Friends Trail once the East Head Trail is passable.
