Friends of the Kishwaukee Fen are hosting an Herbicide Training work day Sunday May 4th, 2025 from 9am-12pm at the end of Palmer Drive in Lakewood.
Through this training, you will be able to obtain an herbicide certification that can be used throughout a variety of preserves through Friends of the Illinois Nature Preserves.
Fens are some of the rarest and most unique ecosystems in Illinois. By learning how to responsibly apply and use various herbicide techniques, we can work together as a community to protect remnant ecological communities all around us! If you're looking to meet great people, learn new skills, and help your local ecosystems- join in!
