Join a friendly group of volunteers in restoring the unique dunesland ecosystem at Illinois Beach State Park!
No experience with restoration, but love nature and want to make a difference? All are welcome! Mentorship, hands-on learning, yummy treats, and good discussion provided 🙂
- Cut and remove brush and burn it on a blazing fire
- Meet new friends

- Go home knowing you made an impact
Meet at the Illinois Beach Nature Center parking lot a few minutes before 9am. Dress in layers, wear natural fiber clothing (such as cotton or wool), or don't get too close to the fire. Bring water and a snack to share if you'd like. All work tools provided. Everyone is invited to come, learn, lead, eat and make a difference.
