We're getting into theme with a night of lightning fast lightning talks (600sec max). At the end of the night you can battle against the experts in the field in our Beat The Champions quiz. There will also be plenty of time to socialise with fellow perfaholics.
This event will be held at Meet Berlage (a 5 min walk from the Amsterdam central station). There is limited space, so make sure you RSVP to reserve your seat.
Your hosts of the night will be Henri Helvetica from WebPageTest by Catchpoint and Annie Sullivan from Google.

Lightning talks:
- Lightweight badges on the edge by Selwyn Versteeg, De Voorhoede
Selwyn is a front-end developer at De Voorhoede with an eagerness to know everything around programming for the web. He dabbles with everything web and Rust & is specialised in serverless. Selwyn spotted the serverless edge early on and has been exploring it since. When not behind a screen you can find him behind his drumset or on his longboard. - Performance Tooling by Elizabeth Sweeny, Product Manager, Google
A 30,000 foot view of the future of the performance panel in DevTools from a product perspective: where we lean in, and where we explore. - Interaction to Next Paint by Michal Mocny, Software Engineer, Google
Interaction to Next Paint (INP) is a new responsiveness metric. During this Lightning Talk we’ll play a trivia game: “Will it Jank?”. This game will have a bunch of learning examples, with some gotchas and easter eggs, meant to teach concepts for INP and showcase how difficult it can be to guess performance without measuring first! - Faster than single page apps? by Anthony Ricaud, Independent Web Architecture & Performance Consultant
Single Page Apps have a reputation to be slow to start in exchange for fast subsequent interactions. Is this really the case? Let's do some experiments! - User Journeys using The WebPageTest Recorder Chrome Extension by Siddhant Shukla, Engineer. WebPageTest
WebPageTest’s custom scripting functionality unlocks powerful testing capabilities, including being able to test multi-step user journeys through your site and application. WebPageTest engineer Siddhant Shukla will demonstrate the new WebPageTest Recorder extension that lets you export flows from Chrome’s built-in recorder directly as WebPageTest Custom scripts. - Managing Core Web Vitals on web platforms by Fabian Krumbholz, Sr Web Performance Consultant, Cognizant Netcentric
In his talk Fabian will share four big challenges he faces and will show opportunities for web performance tool vendors.
