It’s a rare treat we get to hear the legendary Dan Denney (@dandenney (https://twitter.com/dandenney), Code School) come out of hiding to talk about flexbox. Fresh off the release of Code School’s Cracking the Case with Flexbox (https://www.codeschool.com/courses/cracking-the-case-with-flexbox), Dan will show us how to get the most out of flexbox. Even if you’ve been using flexbox for a while, you’ll be sure to learn something.

We also have Josh Pagley (@jdpagley (https://twitter.com/jdpagley), Shoflo) covering some ways to use Material UI (https://getmdl.io/) in React. This is the first React talk we’ve had in a while (Ray’s December talk was a little more Electron-focused than React), and is a great conversation starter for a problem all front-enders face: how to merge good design and good UX with a good developer experience. We all know how tough that can be!

New Location
We’re moving the meetup permanently to Code School’s space, just a half-mile away. With this move, we get free parking and more space. The Iron Yard has been an amazing host for us, and will still continue to help us and all the other tech meetups downtown. But we’re moving purely to make the meetup as convenient as possible for y’all.

P.S.
I just realized this announcement didn’t have any emojis. Sorry about that! 🐒🌭🍕☎️☢️🔜
