Centennial Cone

Details
Ride: Centennial Cone
Meet: Ralph Schell Trailhead
Time: Saturday (Aug.10) -- Ride starts at 10:00a
Difficulty: Intermediate
(Moderately steep. Uneven terrain with rocks, roots, etc. on the trail)
Centinneal Cone is great example of modern, purpose-built MTB trails. The route is smooth, flowy, and not eroding as many seem do in the front range. They're also beautiful, fun, mostly easy, and take you through great scenery. Though the trails are all technically easy, the long climbs and precipitous drop-offs might not make it suitable for beginners.
We're meeting at the Ralph Schell trailhead (off of Robinson Hill Road) rather than the Mayhem Gulch trailhead/lot on Hwy 6. While the drive to the Ralph Schell trailhead may be slightly longer, it allows us to avoid the spur trail that climbs out of Mayhem Gulch, which is often crowded with uphill/downhill riders on weekends. Bypassing that section of the trail allows us to stick to the main loop, which reduces the total mileage to about ~12 miles.
