Trail Running 101

Details
How many times have you been flabbergasted as someone flies by running up the trial leaving you huffing and puffing whilst putting one foot in front of the other? Trail running is a great workout for mind and body. And what better place to get in your aerobic training than in the great outdoor theater that we love so much?! And wouldn't it be nice to be able to know that you too, if you chose, could keep pace with those too-fit runners passing us on the trails.

Come and join us as we begin our winter trail running training. This is for both novice and intermediate runners! Both groups will be guaranteed to be represented, so if you've never run before, haven't run in a while, or run pretty regularly but would like to take on some trails and moderate hills, this is your meetup. We will be starting slow, with a combination of running and walking. We won't always complete the full seven miles, but we'll cover a good part of it, even if that includes a fair portion of it walked.
This is an awesome time of year to be on the lower trails and Devil's Backbone is a good starting ground. The snakes are not active at these temps but snow isn't an issue either. There is plenty of moderate uphill grade, but plenty of flats, too. The temps are cool and pleasant and it's close and beautiful and, well, we can almost guarantee you'll love it.
If there is snow, we may change times/venues as appropriate. Alternate in snowy weather is the Loveland Recreation Trail which is plowed and paved. We'll access it from Centennial Park. That section has about 2.5 miles open (and plowed).
Meet directly at the trail head at Devil's Backbone at noon sharp. Directions here on google. (https://www.google.com/maps/preview#!data=!1m6!1m3!1d3658!2d-105.1520653!3d40.4027239!2m1!2f38.88!2m1!1e3!4m21!3m17!1m1!1sKmart%2C+West+Eisenhower+Boulevard%2C+Loveland%2C+CO!1m5!1sDevil)
