Talk #1: Our design system journey: Web Components and Ember by Arnaud Weyts
A design system built using Stencil.js, leveraging the Web Components API to make sure our components are framework-independent and just workβ’οΈ. Sounds great right?
Weβll cover the inception of Lighthouse's design system, how we integrated it inside of our Ember apps and how everything held up.
About Arnaud
Arnaud Weyts is a Senior Frontend Engineer at Lighthouse. Together with the rest of the platform team he loves getting into the nitty gritty of technical issues and has a passion for incorporating design systems to make a product engineer's life easier.
Talk #2: Finding the logic behind abstractions by Denis Valcke
Development focus in recent years has moved from knowing languages like JavaScript to knowing frameworks and libraries like React, Angular, Redux. As our dependency on these abstractions grows, it's hard for newcomers to make sense of what is happening behind the screens. The intent of this talk is to pique your interest and show you that looking behind the veil isn't hard at all, but highly rewarding still.
About Denis
Denis is a lead JS developer at Studio Hyperdrive. As a self-taught coming into the web dev world 10 years ago, he tried to absorb as much knowledge as he could from peers and articles. Now he shares his knowledge to help students, trainees and peers. Make sure to go have a chat after the talk about development, beekeeping, a good book or TV show you've recently seen, ...
