Coffe and code catchup: GraphQL + Node + React

Let's build a very simple chat client+server. Lightly guided, code-the-way-you-like event :-)
Pick what you want to build:
-backend NodeJS+GraphQL
or
-frontend React+GraphQL.
The aim is to try new tech, and help each other accomplish as much as you can in 3 hours.

Requirements:
Familiarity with React and NodeJS (you know how to set up a project in NodeJS or code very simple components in React)
