David Burdett is a member of SAP's Product Architecture and Technology Strategy Group. Prior to joining SAP, David worked in Architecture and Product/Solution Management roles with Commerce One. Before that he worked for a smart card company on internet/mobile payments and in management consultancy for over 20 years including Ernst & Young (now CapGemini). His current focus is on how businesses can leverage Big Data and Database Technologies - including SAP HANA, Hadoop and NoSQL - for business benefit. David is an all-rounder working in Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, Logistics, Retail, Sustainability, Oil & Gas and Utilities on activities covering Data Analysis & Database Design, Enterprise Performance Management, Hardware & Software Selection, IT Organizational Planning, IT Strategy, Product/Solution Management, Systems Development & Management, Systems Development Methodologies and Standards. He has also taught IT best practices, writes the occasional blog and is passionate about helping businesses understand how to use IT to deliver business value and helping software providers develop solutions that enable deliver it.
