An evening with the stars: The actor model and F#
Details
Tuxedos, red carpets and the bright lights of tinsel town. It's a far cry from application development in .Net.
Or is it...?
Well, yes it is but we can use similar words. Actors.
The actor model is nothing new but it's seeing a surge in popularity. why is that? Is it the ability to scale applications up instantly? Is it the faster development time of distributed systems? Or is it just that Erlang is popular again?
Learn what the actor model is and how you can put it into your applications regardless of application size. The session covers actors in their simplest form right the way through to cloud scale application development. Expect some samples in Erlang but we’ll mostly be dealing with F#.
