The problem is that most dating events also suck. Speed dating? No, thanks.

👋 Say hello to Dating Like it's 1999: an event for people who are tired of apps but also skeptical about going to a 'dating event'. We've been there and we hear you!

📦 WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?

​A fresh, playful, and fun experience designed to connect you with other curious, open-hearted singles without the apps, the pressure, or the awkward small talk. 🎈

​It’s an afternoon of meaningful moments, unexpected games, and real convos. Designed to bring people together in the most human (and playful) way possible. It’s also just a different & cool way of meeting friends (and potential crushes, of course!).

​It’s dating, rewired. Analog, on purpose. And honestly? Way more fuuuun. 💿 (we promise)

📓 HOW DOES IT WORK?

​We start with a short & sweet intro talk followed by a few light-hearted group games to warm up. You’ll never have to speak in public if you don’t want. You'll be guided by an experienced host (Lauren) who'll make sure everything goes smoothly. 🍭 (introverts, you'll love it too ❤️)

At the end of the event, you'll receive a link with the option to write down your crushes. If it's a match, we'll notify you!

💛 Each round is a different game - some are physical, some are brainy, and some are just silly.

💾 You’ll get paired up, switched around, and matched in ways that keep it fresh (no endless awkward intros).

​🦙 Some rounds, you’ll connect without saying a word. Other rounds will test your teamwork, humor, and ability to handle a bit of chaos.

​🏅 In the end, you might walk away with a crush. And if you don't we're sure you'll have a good time!

✔️ Heterosexual men and women aged between 27 and 39 years old. (We support all forms of nontraditional relationships and are considering different editions in the future.)

We host our events in awesome bars & parks across the city. We only reveal the location upon confirmation. This event will take place in a cozy venue in The Annex.

I hear you, we were too. Here's the thing: we've been doing this for so many years and pour our hearts and soul into designing things that are fun, meaningful, and a bit different. Trust us and trust yourself, you'll have a nice time! Be bold and take the leap; you never know what can happen. 💙

• Can I be late?
Please don't! Late arrivals will disrupt the floooooooow.

• Why do you charge?
We value our time and put a lot of love, planning, and effort into creating & designing these experiences. ♥️ This is our project/business and what we give to the world and we think everything should be a fair exchange! 🎈 However, money should never be the reason for people not to attend. If you can’t afford it send us a message!

📦 WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?

FTST is an out-of-the-box social experience where strangers come together for an afternoon of meaningful, fun, and deep conversation. It’s also a different & cool way of meeting new people by getting a bit out of your comfort zone and skipping the small talk!

Join us for games, talks, and connections with friends you haven’t met yet. Join if you get annoyed after being asked what you do, where you are from, and how long you've been in Toronto every single time you meet someone. If you feel that there are better questions in life, this is the place for you. 🙌

📓 HOW DOES IT WORK?

We start with a short & sweet intro talk followed by a few light-hearted group games to warm up. After that, we split you up into small groups and start with the conversation rounds (with 3-4 people). We'll have awesome question cards that will guide the flow of the conversation. You'll be guided by an experienced host (Stefanie, you'll love her!) who'll make sure everything goes smoothly. 🍭

We usually get a high volume of sign-ups yet we like to keep it cozy & only invite around 30 people. Please try again next time if you do not receive an invite - no hard feelings 💛

• Is this a networking or dating event?
Nope! Think of us as the anti-networking and anti-speed dating event. There’s no pressure, no pitches, and no cringy icebreakers. Instead, we create spaces where strangers can connect through fun & meaningful conversations. It’s all about authentic connection—no business cards or romantic expectations required. (doesn’t mean it can’t happen—it’s just not the intention!)
