10k Steps Challenge & Social Walk at Legg Lake (Whittier Narrows)

Details
Due to the success of the Lacy Park walk, I’ve decided to add a second walking route at Whittier Narrows on alternating weeks. Walking 10,000 steps every day is ideal, and meeting only once every two weeks isn’t enough exercise for most of us.
This gives us another chance to stay active while enjoying each other’s company and building a fun, social fitness routine.
Plus, since this walk takes place on a weekday, there are no parking fees at Whittier Narrows. We’ll get to enjoy a scenic walk around the lake and surrounding areas—completely free.
I know—10,000 steps might not sound like much, but for those of us who sit at a desk or stand in one spot all day, it can be harder than it seems.
And while 15,000 or 20,000 steps would be great, they also require more time. So to keep things fun and manageable, we’re starting with a 10k steps challenge—and may increase the goal in future events.
By the way, Whittier Narrows does allow dogs, but they must be kept on a leash at all times, and you’ll be responsible for them.
This is a casual, social walk—no running involved. Feel free to bring water if you need it.
We’ll meet at the main Legg Lake parking lot entrance located at:
750 S Santa Anita Ave, South El Monte, CA 91733
