Welcome to FuckUp Nights Melbourne! We are back for October with our annual 'World Mental Health Day edition.' We run this very unique storytelling event with a huge amount of people in Melbourne and Sydney attending our events to listen to incredible stories of personal, business and project failure and the wisdom and resilience learned from such experiences.

Free tickets available here: https://melbfunoctober.eventbrite.com

FuckUp Nights is a global movement born in Mexico in 2012 to share public business failure stories with hundreds of people attending each event around the world. Each month speakers will be invited to talk about their FuckUp stories; we’ll learn about their biggest mistakes, what they learned, how they moved on- all whilst sharing invaluable advice along the way.

The speakers will candidly share in 7-10 minutes:

  • What their project / business was

  • What went wrong / How it affected their personal life / What they learned / What they would do differently.

Speaker 1: Will Richardson - Head of Venture Capital, Impact Investment Group / Managing Partner, Giant Leap Fund

Will is Head of Venture Capital at the Impact Investment Group (IIG). At IIG, he leads the Giant Leap Fund, Australia’s first 100% impact venture capital fund.

Giant Leap is a venture capital fund dedicated to investing in rapidly scalable, early stage businesses that fuse profit and purpose across three impact themes: health and wellbeing, sustainable living and empowering people.

Speaker 2: Adele (delsi cat) Moleta - Founding Director of the LGBTQIA+ organisation Unicorns.

Adele (delsi cat) Moleta is a proud queer, femme woman, activist, speech maker and party creator.

For the last 8 years she has been at the forefront of creating highly inclusive and accessible events, festivals and workshops for people who don't often have access to safe spaces.

Speaker 3: Alex Zaccaria - Co-Founder and Director, Linktree

Alex is the Co-Founder of Linktree, one of Australia’s fastest growing tech startups. Linktree is a social tool with a mission of re-building the fragmented social internet by connecting audiences to a users entire online ecosystem, not just a single feed.

Founded in 2016, Linktree pioneered an entire category of social connection tools that help users to share more, sell more, curate more and grow more. Linktree has become the front door to the online world of more than 3 million users worldwide (including the likes of Alicia Keys, Jamie Oliver and Chelsea Handler) across just about every vertical you can imagine.

At the end of each person’s story, you’ll have a chance to ask questions- nothing too cheeky, but feel free to dig around. You’ll hear stories and advice you won’t get elsewhere - and these stories will (hopefully) put you in good stead to not make the same fuckups.

We get by with a little help from our friends, so here's a little about them!
