This interactive writing event is hosted on the Fuel website, so please sign up here to take part!

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join us for up to 45 minutes of interactive writing from wherever you are.

This event is for anyone who wants to experience what becomes possible in writing when it happens together. Sessions are held exclusively online, are free of charge, and take place daily at 8 PM ET / 7 PM CT.

Participants read a short, unfinished scene, then step into a role and continue the scene together by writing dialogue, in character. Each event is private, time-limited, and exists only for the people in the room. The focus is on presence, play, and shared creative work.

TO JOIN THE EVENT:
Make sure you sign up or log in before the event starts at 8:00 PM ET / 7:00 PM CT.

  1. Go to https://fuel.social.
  2. Click the “8:00 PM” button further down the page.
  3. In the pop up window, enter your email address.
  4. Click “Send Magic Link.”
  5. Check your email and click the link you receive.

PLEASE NOTE:
Each event has limited seating for 5 to 12 people. A minimum of 3 participants, excluding the host, is required for a session to take place. If fewer than 3 participants attend, the session won’t take place.

ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS ARE WELCOME:
Because participants write only dialogue, short texts can be just as fitting as more elaborate contributions, allowing less experienced writers to mix easily with more experienced ones.

WHAT IS FUEL, ANYWAY?
Fuel is a roleplay-based writing space where you step into a character and take part in short screenplay scenes. Each interaction begins with a brief, open-ended excerpt. You choose a role, join a small group, and continue the scene through dialogue. Sessions on Fuel are private, not public posts. There is no feed, no thumbs-ups, and no follower counts. Each session is a contained, time-limited encounter that exists only for the people in the room. This makes it more focused, personal, and free from outside judgment. It is also genuinely fun and entertaining to use: as you explore different scenarios with others, you practice imagination, empathy, and creative interpretation in a safe space, and the insights and experiences you gain become part of your toolkit for navigating the world.

BRING YOUR OWN MATERIAL:
Participants are encouraged to bring short scenes of their own into an event, so others can step into their characters and continue the dialogue. This often reveals unexpected shifts in tone, voice, and how the scene unfolds, offering a fresh perspective on the material. If you’d like to bring your own scene into an event, please message the organizer in advance.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
The Fuel website is optimized for use on Google Chrome and Apple Safari. Laptop and desktop computers as well as Android tablets and iPads with an effective screen resolution of at least 1024 pixels are supported.
